iRacing Special Events
A family of logos for the largest sim-racing endurance events in the world.
Enurance racing is basically speed running a road trip

iRacing's special events are among the most prestigious online races
In fact, they're even bigger than their real world counterparts. For example, the 2024 Indy 500 had 33 drivers competing. Over 15,000 drivers competed in the sim-racing event.
Our old special event branding circa 2016
These were before my time, but we agreed they didn't convey the importance and prestige of the world's greatest sim-racing events.

Elevating the look and ensuring cohesiveness
Taking the design helm for these logos, my goal was to visually elevate them and better communicate the prestige of these special events. To differentiate them from our standard official series logos, I came up with a system to create a highly cohesive family of logos.
This system would include intricate details, be modular to accommodate varying event titles, and be built to seamlessly integrate sponsorships. This flexibility would empower our sales team to offer sponsorship packages and sell naming rights.

Event Posters
To help promote our events on social media, we created a poster series that would help announce the events as they came up on the schedule.

Nerdy details about the logo system
The system needed to be incredibly flexible, while remaining consistent and predictable.
My main considerations in creating the system:
Variable title lengths
Prominent title sponsor placement
Providing space for the iRacing brand even when an event has a sponsor

A sponsored event with a long title

An un-sponsored event with a long title

A sponsored event with a short title

An unsponsored event with a short title
